ASK Program Continues
Al Peugout ‘72 was the most recent alumnus to meet with DC students as part of the ongoing Alumni Student Konnection (ASK) program. The program allows alumni to bring their life and career advice directly to students searching for answers related to their next steps in their college and post-college experience. If you would like to be part of a lunch-time get-together with DC students, call Dave Plant, Director of Alumni Relations at 419-783-2572 or email him at dplant@defiance.edu. If you live a distance from the college and would offer assistance via email or phone contact with students, you may sign up as a National Network Mentor.

Alumni Award Nominees
Your Alumni Office believes every alumnus and alumna of Defiance College is special. Each year we find even more reasons to celebrate the achievements of our alumni. But who gets nominated and selected for an Alumni Achievement Award, Young Alumni Service Award, Alumni Academic Excellence Award, or e
ntrance into the Athletic Hall of Fame is strictly up to you. If alumni and friends don't nominate people deserving of this recognition, they can't be added to the list of possible candidates. To find out more about the criteria for each of these awards, who has received them in the past, and to nominate an alumnus you believe belongs in one of these select groups, click on the links above. Your peers on the Alumni Executive Board and Alumni Varsity 'D' Board select the honorees at their March and April meetings. Don't delay your nominations if your candidate is to be considered for this year's awards, to be presented at Homecoming, October 4-11. |
Feeling Wicked?
The alumni office has 60 tickets to the 2:00 pm, April 11 showing of Wicked at the Stranahan Theatre in Toledo. You may travel in the comfort of a coach bus with a box lunch provided which will leave from the Defiance College campus or simply join in with alums at a pre-show reception at Sebastiano's restaurant. Yellow Jacket Cracker Jack Baseball Tour
It is official. The dates are set. Join us for the first ever DCAN Cracker Jack Baseball Tour. For the next few years, we will be visiting baseball parks across the country in hopes of gathering our Yellow Jacket family together for food and fun alongside the "Great American Pastime.” With spring and summer plans forming in the minds of many, we hope that you will take a look at the schedule of ballparks we will be visiting. Yellow Jacket Golf Classic June 26th - Click here to Register
Have you got game? Heck, do you have friends and just want to use the Golf Classic as an excuse to get together? Either way, come on out to the Kettenring Country Club, about a half-mile from campus, for the annual Yellow Jacket Golf Classic. The outing is open to all alumni and friends of Defiance College. The day starts at 11:00 with a warm up and sandwiches. At noon, one lucky person's name will be drawn to see if they can hole out from 165 yards for $1,000,000 dollars. Four other lucky golfers will get a chance to do the same for a set of Taylor Made Clubs and professional bag. Trips and other raffle items mean there will be a lot to give away at the 5:30pm banquet. The closing banquet is open to all, golfer and non-golfer alike. And of course, there will be a great scramble style tournament sandwiched in between.
